Sift flour, sugar and soda together.
Drain 1/2 cup juice from a Number 2 can fruit cocktail.
You won't need the juice.
Add fruit cocktail to beaten egg.
Pour into mixed dry ingredients; mix well.
Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.
Sprinkle brown sugar and pecans or walnuts over the batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Top with whipped cream.

Pour the juice from the can of fruit cocktail and mix with the other ingredients, then add the fruit from the can of cocktail. Put into pan and sprinkle on top 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup pecans.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
