Mix flour and sugar; cut in butter to make crumb mixture.

This is a \"wet bottom\" Shoo-Fly pie.

In a bowl, mix together the corn syrup, molasses, water, soda and egg.
Reserve about half of this mixture. To the rest, add the flour, butter and brown sugar.
