Minestrone And Meatball Soup

Mix first five ingredients together for the meatballs.
Pour remaining onion soup mix in large kettle.
Add the canned tomatoes and also fill each can with water.
Add to tomatoes.
Bring to a boil and drop in small meatballs.
Let simmer for 30 minutes. Then add the vegetables and simmer another 20 minutes.
(You can also add another package of dried onion soup mix if you like.)

Southbridge Pea Soup

Cover split peas with water in large pot and add rest of ingredients except dried onion soup mix.
Bring to a boil and simmer 3 to 4 hours until peas are mushy.
Remove ham bone and bay leaf and add more water if soup is too thick.
Add 1/2 package dried onion soup mix and cook another 1/2 hour.
Serve with croutons.

Beef Roast With Mushroom And Onion Soup

Line a pan with a large piece of foil.
Sprinkle onion soup mix in bottom of pan.
Lay roast on top of dry soup mix.
Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper.
Pour mushroom soup over top of roast. Fold foil loosely over top of roast.
Cook in oven at 325\u00b0 about 2 1/2 hours or until tender.

Dried Onion Soup Mix

Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Place in a storage container with a tight-fitting lid and seal tightly.
Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Stir or shake well before each use.
Measure about 1/3 cup dry mix to use as a substitute for one 1.25-ounce package of purchased dry onion soup mix.

Chicken Casserole

Mix celery soup, chicken soup and milk; heat.
Add rice to soup mix.
Put
into
greased
9 x 13-inch pan and top with pork chops or
chicken
with
1\tpackage dried onion soup mix. Cover with tinfoil and bake at 350\u00b0 for 2 hours.

No Peek Chicken

Line metal baking pan with foil, leaving about 8 inches extra on each side. Mix ingredients (except chicken) in the foil lined pan. Top with chicken. Sprinkle 1 pkg. dried onion soup mix over chicken. Pull the extra foil over the top and seal. Bake 2 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.

Chicken Casserole

First mix Lipton dried onion soup mix with other soups.
Butter casserole dish.
Sprinkle rice on bottom of pan.
Place chicken on rice then add chicken broth and mushroom soup over all.
Sprinkle with paprika.
Cover with foil and bake 1 1/2 hours, covered. Uncover and bake 30 minutes or more until chicken is brown in 375\u00b0 oven.
Yields 4 to 6 servings.

Beef Roast With Corn Meal Dumplings

Brown beef roast (chuck roast works well) in oil.
Mix water, dried onion soup mix, thyme and diced celery.
Pour over roast. Cover and cook slowly 2 hours or until tender.
Mix dumplings and drop in by spoonfuls.
Cover tightly and steam for 15 minutes. Thicken liquid for gravy, if desired.

Beef Pot Roast

Put 1/2 can of soup on a double piece of foil large enough to wrap around roast.
On top of that, put 1/2 of the package of dried onion soup mix.
Put roast on top and add remaining soup and onion soup on top of roast.
Wrap in foil and place in shallow pan. Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 1 hour per pound.
Makes a delicious roast and gravy all in one. Also a good way to fix chicken.

Chicken N Rice

Sprinkle rice in bottom of 9 x 13-inch baking pan, sprayed with Pam.
Mix cream of celery soup, cream of mushroom soup and milk.
Pour evenly over rice.
Place chicken on top.
Sprinkle dried onion soup mix over chicken.
Seal pan with aluminum foil and bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 hours.

Venison Meatballs

Mix together ground deer meat, dried onion soup mix, egg, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, rolled oats, dried parsley flakes, milk and catsup.
Form into walnut size balls and set aside.
In a 10 x 10-inch square microwave-safe casserole, mix the beef broth and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Add meatballs.
Cook, covered on 70 (Roast) for 10 minutes.

Baked Chicken And Rice

Mix rice, 2 cans soup and 1/2 can water.
Spread in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Add chicken parts on top.
Sprinkle chicken with 1/2 package dried onion soup mix.
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.

Beef And Gravy Roast

Place roast in a deep baking dish.
Pour soup over top of roast, then sprinkle dried onion soup mix on top of soup.
Add 2 soup cans of water around sides of roast.
Cover and bake at 300\u00b0 for about 3 hours.

Busy Day Oven Stew

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
In a large casserole or pan with lid, make a layer of 1/2 the beef, then 1/2 the vegetables, then remaining beef and vegetables.
Sprinkle with dried onion soup mix; add bay leaves.
Mix soups and tomato sauce and add.
Cover tightly and bake 6 to 8 hours.
Serves 8 to 10.

Chicken Casserole

Mix and pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Place chicken pieces on top then sprinkle with the dried onion soup mix.
Cover with foil and bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 1/4 hours (remove cover and let brown the last 10 minutes).

Chicken And Rice

Mix rice, soups, milk, and water.
Place in lightly greased 9x13 baking dish.
Place chicken over rice.
Sprinkle with dried onion soup mix. Cover tightly with foil.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

Touch Down Stew

Spread baking dish with 1 can cream of mushroom soup (undiluted).
Spread stew meat over that.
Sprinkle 1 envelope dried onion soup mix.
Add 1/2 can water.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 3 hours.
Serve over rice.

Tater-Tot Casserole

Crumble raw hamburger on bottom of casserole dish.
Salt and pepper to taste and cover with dried onion soup mix.
Spread frozen Tater-tots over this.
Cover with soup which has been diluted with milk.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Pot Roast

Place a large sheet of heavy-duty foil in pan without lid. Lay meat on foil after rubbing both sides generously with steak sauce.
Sprinkle dried onion soup mix on top and pour cream of mushroom soup over this.
Close foil over meat loosely.
(It makes its own gravy.)
Crimp foil to hold in heat.
Cook in slow oven (250\u00b0 to 300\u00b0) for 1 hour for each pound of meat. (Can also be cooked in crock-pot, but omit foil.)
