Grammie Channing'S Grape-Nut Bread

Soak Grape-Nuts in 1 cup sweet milk and 1 cup sour milk for 15 minutes.
Add beaten egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Blend with Grape-Nuts mixture. Transfer to 1 large or 2 small greased loaf pans.
Bake 1 hour in a 350\u00b0 oven. Let stand 1 hour and 20 minutes before cutting. Great for toast.

Post'S Grape-Nuts Bread

Soak Grape-Nuts in sour milk for 20 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients.
Let stand about 10 minutes before baking.
Bake in a slow oven for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.

Grape-Nuts Pudding

Combine Grape-Nuts and milk together; let stand while beating remaining ingredients together.
Add to Grape-Nuts and milk; stir well.
Pour into a 9 x 9-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 until inserted knife comes out clean (about 45 minutes).

Grape-Nuts Ice Cream

Add sugar gradually to beaten eggs.
Beat well after each addition.
When stiff, add remaining ingredients (except Grape-Nuts) and mix thoroughly.
Pour into ice cream maker.
Add Grape-Nuts and crank until firm or frozen.

Put Grape-Nuts in milk.
Beat eggs.
Add sugar and vanilla. Add to Grape-Nuts mixture.

Heat milk to scalding.
Add the Grape-Nuts and cool.
In a bowl, beat eggs slightly.
Add salt, sugar and vanilla.
Combine with the cooled Grape-Nuts mixture.
Mix well and pour into a buttered baking dish.
Sprinkle with the cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
Set the casserole in a pan of warm water and bake in a moderate oven until firm, about 45 minutes.

Grape-Nuts Custard

Scald milk and Grape-Nuts in microwave approximately 13 minutes.
Meanwhile, beat eggs.
Add sugar, salt and vanilla.
Mix with milk and Grape-Nuts in 2-quart casserole.
Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon on top.
Cook on High, approximately 15 minutes.
Serves 6 to 8.

Grape-Nuts Bread

Combine Grape-Nuts and milk and let stand 15 minutes.
Beat egg and sugar; add Grape-Nuts and shortening and mix well.
Sift together baking powder, soda and salt.
Add to Grape-Nuts mixture and beat.
Will be very stiff.
Turn out onto 2 greased loaf pans. Let stand 45 minutes, then bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.

Grape-Nuts Pie

Let Grape-Nuts and warm water stand until water is absorbed. Add Grape-Nuts to egg mixture and pour into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes, or until filling is puffy completely across top.

Prepare pudding as directed.
Mix in Grape-Nuts and add Cool Whip.
Chill about 1 1/2 hours.
Grape-Nuts will get soft.

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Scald milk. In a large ovenproof bowl, mix remaining ingredients. When milk is scalded, add Grape-Nuts. Pour milk and Grape-Nuts into egg mixture.

Mix butter with Grape-Nuts.
Beat eggs. Blend in sugar.
Add remaining ingredients with Grape-Nuts mixture.
Blend well.

Place in pan of hot water. Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
Knife inserted 1-inch from edge should come out clean.
Stir pudding several times during first 1/2 hour of baking.
Serve warm.

Grape-Nuts Bread

Mix together Grape-Nuts and sour or buttermilk; let stand 1/2 hour.
Beat together sugar and egg.
Mix together flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
Add sugar and egg to Grape-Nuts and milk, then add flour mixture.
Add 1 tablespoon cooking oil.
Grease and flour bread pan.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 and test for doneness. Center will crack.
Very good when toasted.

Grape-Nuts Dessert

Mix pudding and milk as directed on box.
Soak Grape-Nuts in 1/4 cup warm water and then let cool.
Add pudding and Grape-Nuts, Cool Whip and marshmallows and put in refrigerator.

Pour milk over Grape-Nuts and cool a bit.
Beat egg and add sugar.
Add this and remaining ingredients to Grape-Nuts mixture; stir.
Dot with small pieces of butter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until firm and golden brown.

Add lemon rind to butter and cream well.
Add sugar gradually, blending after each addition.
Add egg yolks and beat thoroughly. Add lemon juice, flour, Grape-Nuts and milk, mixing well.
Fold in egg whites.
Turn into greased 8-inch baking dish and place in pan of hot water.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Check after 1 hour.
When done, it has a crust on top with the pudding below.
Serve hot or cold with cream.
Serves 6.

Grape-Nuts Bread
