In a medium saucepan
Bake yams the night before serving until tender.
The next morning, peel the yams, slice into rounds and arrange on the bottom of buttered casserole dish.
Core and peel the apples, slice 5 slices widthwise and arrange in rows across the top of the sweet potatoes.
