Cee'S Yams And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large yams
    10 large Granny Smith apples
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 cube butter
    cinnamon
Preparation
    Parboil the yams until tender; peel and slice.
    Slice the apples, leaving peels on.
    Alternate layers of yams and apples in a 9 x 12-inch Pyrex dish with apples ending up on top layer.
    Mix the sugar, water, salt and cornstarch.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Add the butter; stir until melted.
    Pour over yams and apples; sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Cover with foil; bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    This is a crowd pleaser at our house!
