Yams And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 yams, parboiled and sliced
    5 apples, cored, peeled and sliced
    cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Layer apples and yams in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Cook, stirring, until thick.
    Pour sauce over yams and apples. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
