Missouri Depression Fruit Cake

Cook raisins in 2 cups water.
When tender, drain.
Mix together with lard or vegetable oil, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cocoa, flour, soda and 1 cup cold water or fruit juice.
Add nuts and candied fruit.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
Makes 4 (3 3/4 x 7 1/2-inch) loaves. When cool, wrap in foil.
Store in refrigerator or freeze.

Blend until smooth.

To reach your favorite consistency, you may want to add more water or fruit juice to the frozen fruit.

Fruit Punch

In a punch bowl, mix together fruit punch, pineapple juice and ginger ale. Add scoops of sherbet into the punch. Wait for the sherbet to begin melting, approximately 10 minutes, stir gently, and serve.

Fruit Punch

Chill all ingredients.
You can make fruit ice rings with fruit and fruit punch and freeze.
Mix all ingredients, keeping orange juice in concentrated form.
Serve in large punch bowl.

Fruit Salad

Pour cold water in bowl and sprinkle gelatin on top.
Add sugar, salt and hot water.
Stir until all is dissolved.
Add lemon and mix thoroughly.
Put into fridge.
Allow to jell somewhat.
Cut fruit into small pieces.
Drain cherries and pineapple and cut.
Add fruit to jello when it is thickened somewhat.
Oil mold and rinse in cold water.
Pour mixture into mold and refrigerate.
To remove from mold, dip into hot water.

Fruit Gelatin Salad

Put gelatine in ice cold water for 2 minutes.
Put Jell-O in dish and add 2 cups boiling water.
Add another 2 cups boiling water and stir.
Cool and add 4 cups of drained fruit juice and water as desired.
When thickens, add fruit or place fruit in serving dish and add gelatine mixture.

Steve'S Favorite Fruit Cobbler

In shallow 2-quart casserole, cream margarine and sugar.
Mix in flour, baking powder and milk.
Spread evenly in bottom of casserole.
Arrange fruit evenly over batter.
Mix sugar and spice and sprinkle over fruit.
Pour fruit juice or water over fruit. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
During baking the fruit will go to the bottom and a cakelike layer will form on top.
Serve warm with ice cream.
Serves 6 to 8.

Gladys Clark'S Fruit Cake(This Fruit Cake Contains No Citrus Fruit.)

Sift together the first 3 ingredients.
Cream in the butter or margarine and lemon juice.
Bring 2 cups water to a boil.
Add the raisins and chopped dried fruit; again bring to a boil.
Pour off water; drain fruit on paper towel and set aside.
Mix the nuts, dates, cherries and pineapple wedges in a large bowl.
Add dry ingredients to mixture in bowl; mix lightly until fruit and nuts are well coated.
(Can add the coconut, if desired.)

Green Pepper Jelly

Chop peppers finely in blender, using 1/2 cup cider vinegar to moisten.
Put chopped peppers, rest of vinegar, salt, pepper flakes and chili powder in heavy saucepan with sugar.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for about 30 seconds.
Remove from heat. Add 1 bottle fruit pectin (I add a little more).
Return to rolling boil; skim off foam.
Stir constantly for 1 minute only. Pour into jars; cool and cover tightly.
Makes about 5 small jars.

Fruit Ice Ring Punch

Place frozen juices and water into large bowl.
Stir until frozen juices are thawed.
Pour mixture into punch bowl over ice cubes.
Gently pour ginger ale and soda water that has been chilled.
Add iced Fruit Ring. Garnish with sliced fruit and mint.

Fruit Cobbler

Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix together cornstarch and cold water. Heat fruit with syrup in saucepan until hot.
Add cornstarch and water mixture and stir into fruit.
Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute, stirring the while.
Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole and dot with the 1 tablespoon butter.
Mix remaining ingredients with fork until soft dough forms.
Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot fruit.
Bake about 20 minutes.
Serve with cream or ice cream.

Fruit Cocktail Canned

Boil sugar and water 5 minutes for syrup.
Prepare fruit for canning.
Cut oranges in large pieces.
Cut grapes in half removing seeds, I already told you; see it is an old recipe.
Cut pineapple in small pieces; I already told you about tidbits.
Mix all together.
Pour into hot sterile jars.
Pour boiling syrup over fruit.
Seal tight.
Put back in boiling water.
Turn off heat and let stand 24 hours.

Fruit Cake

Mix 2 cups warm water, sugar, fruit, salt, oil, raisins, cinnamon and cloves together in a large saucepan and bring to hard boil for 5 minutes.
Let cool, then put nuts, baking soda, 1 teaspoon warm water and flour into fruit mixture and stir well. Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Fruit Tapioca

Drain fruit juice into a measuring cup.
Cut fruit into bite size pieces and set aside.
Add water to fruit juice to make 2 1/2 cups liquid.
Put all ingredients except fruit into a saucepan. Let set 5 minutes, then bring to a full boil.
Remove from heat; add fruit and stir occasionally while cooling.
Store in refrigerator.

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

Mix milk and 5 tablespoons of water.
Slowly mix up peanut butter stirring in honey.
Add remaining water a little at a time until proper consistency.
Mix until very smooth.
Store in refrigerator.
Serve with fruit.

Old Fashioned 3 Pound Fruit Cake

Drain fruit; save juice.
Dissolve jello in boiling water; add ginger ale.
Add cold water to fruit juice to make 1 3/4 cups; stir in jello.
Chill until partially set, then add fruit.
Pour into 2-quart container or mold.
Chill until firm.
Fold marshmallows into Cool Whip and then add Miracle Whip.
Spoon over jello mix and chill.
Garnish with toasted, shredded coconut, if desired.
