Pour remaining batter over apples and top with remaining apples. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool. Turn onto serving plate.
Combine sliced apples, cinnamon and 3 to 5 tablespoons sugar; set aside.
Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, sugar, oil, eggs, salt and orange juice and beat well until batter is smooth.
