Jewish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples, peeled and sliced
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 3/4 c. sugar, divided
    3 c. unsifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. oil
    4 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. orange juice
    additional sugar (for sprinkling)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a ring mold pan and sprinkle with sugar.
    Combine apple with cinnamon and 1/4 cup of sugar; set aside.
    Mix remaining sugar with all remaining ingredients.
    Pour layer of batter into mold, then layer of apples and repeat, finishing with apples last.
    Bake 1 3/4 hours and allow to cool before removing from pan.
