Pulse ingredients for the cheese spread in food processor until mixture is combined. Transfer spread to a small serving dish and garnish with shaved crystalized ginger. Serve with date nut bread.

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs together.
Blend all dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture with milk and cherry juice.
Stir in nuts and cherries.
Pour batter into well-greased loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
Remove bread from pan at once. Cool before slicing.
Makes 36 (1/2-inch slice) pieces of bread.
Prepare pudding and pie filling according to package directions using the 2 cups of milk.
Layer half the bread cubes, pudding, banana slices, and Cool Whip in a 2 quart serving bowl. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate until serving time, but no longer than 24 hours.
Beat all ingredients except maraschino cherries in large bowl on low speed 15 seconds.
Beat on medium speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
Stir in maraschino cherries.
Pour into greased pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Immediately loosen sides of loaf from pan and remove it onto a wire rack.
Cool completely before slicing.
Can wrap and freeze bread up to 3 months.
Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour 2 loaf pans.
Blend all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed for 15 seconds.
Beat on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
Stir in drained cherries.
Pour into pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. Immediately remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
Garnish top of bread with cherries and sliced candied pineapple if desired.
Mix and sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and mix well. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquid to creamed mixture; add cherries and nuts. Bake in bread pan at 350 for one hour.
Dump everything but the cherries in a mixing bowl and beat well, scrape, and mix again.
Add the cherries and mix well.
Put into a greased bread pan.
350 oven for 60-70 minutes still a tester comes out clean.
Remove from pan and let cool.
Store at least 8 hours before slicing.
Note: To substitute soured milk for buttermilk, add vinegar to the whole milk and let sit for 5 minutes before adding to the bowl. This is what I use usually.

Cream butter--add sugar
In mixing bowl, blend together brown sugar, granulated sugar, shortening and eggs. Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Mix well. Add buttermilk and cherry juice, stirring well. Mix in nuts and maraschino cherries. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat and add eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with cherry juice to batter.
Add cherries, nuts and vanilla.
Pour into 9 x 5-inch greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.

Combine cherry preserves and water.
Pour cherry mixture into 2 tall glasses.
Add scoops of cherry nut/or vanilla ice cream. Slowly pour carbonated beverage down sides of glasses.

Pour into bread pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to cooling rack.
