For the Cake: Set oven rack in middle

Make cake mix according to box directions.
To make frosting, add 6 tablespoons of water to sugar and bring to a boil until sugar makes ball in glass of water.
Add sugar liquid to beaten egg whites; beat until real firm.
After cake is cool, poke holes in cake and pour some of juice from strawberries.
Frost cake; then add sliced strawberries between middle layer and on top.
Let cool for at least 1 hour in icebox before serving.
SPONGE CAKE:
Preheat the oven to
Mix together cake mix, margarine and egg.
Pat in 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
Remove from oven; cover with 3 cups miniature marshmallows.
Set aside.
Mix white syrup, margarine, butterscotch chips and vanilla.
Heat until melted. Add Rice Krispies and peanuts.
Spread over marshmallows (I use light cake mix and light margarine and unsalted peanuts).
Spread pie filling in large glass casserole dish.
Spoon and spread pineapple over pie filling.
Sprinkle dry cake mix over top of fruit.
Pour liquid Butter Buds on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and looks \"done\".
Best served warm.

Sprinkle on the nuts.
Sprinkle on the dry cake mix.
Cut butter into chunks and drop on top. Sprinkle brown sugar over all.
Add more nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
