Lemon Wads(Chess Cake Squares)

Combine softened oleo and egg, then add cake mix.
Press this in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Beat together the softened cream cheese and 2 eggs; gradually add powdered sugar.
Pour over first layer. Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Do not overcook.
Cool and cut into squares.

This recipe is very rich, so a small portion size is recommened. Best when eaten while still a warm, but also great cool.

Mix margarine, cake mix and 1 egg.
Mix well until texture is semi-stiff, like cookie dough.
Press into well-greased baking pan (oblong 13 1/2 x 2-inch pan approximately).
Mix cream cheese, 3 eggs and powdered sugar well. Pour on top of first mixture and bake for 1 hour.
Let cool approximately 1 hour before serving.
Cut in squares.

Mix together cake mix, butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Press into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Mix together cream cheese, 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and powdered sugar.
Pour over first mixture.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Allow to cool completely before serving.

Chess Cake

Mix the cake mix, 1 beaten egg and melted margarine by hand. Press the mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
(I use shortening, then flour; cake will not stick.)
Blend the cream cheese and 2 eggs well.
Add sugar until all these ingredients are mixed smooth.

Mix together powdered sugar, cream cheese and 3 eggs.

Pat in greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour on top.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool.
Cut in 1 1/2-inch squares.
