Brown ground beef.
Cook noodles according to package directions.
Drain sauerkraut.
In a large pot, combine cans of condensed soup, 1 soup can of milk, and sauerkraut. Mix well to combine.
Add in cooked beef and noodles. Stir until well coated.
Cook together on stove over medium-high heat until heated all the way through.
Top with shredded cheese before serving.

Brown hamburger and onion, salt and pepper, drain. Add soups and milk. Stir.
Cook noodles, partially, about 5 minutes. They will finish cooking during baking time.
Either using a crock-pot(low heat), or a casserole dish, grease with butter, then layer in order, 1/2 of each. Noodles, sauerkraut, hamburger mixture, cheese.
Repeat.
Either cook in crock-pot on low 4 hours, or bake in a 350 oven, for 45 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

Sauerkraut Hotdish

Place Sauerkraut in a collander & rinse well -- set aside to drain.
Brown the ground beef & bacon together -- drain all but 1 T. fat.
Season the kraut to taste & add to meat mixture.
Add water & cover.
Simmer for 1 hour.
Place in a lightly buttered cassarole dish.
Top with mashed potatoes & dot with butter.
Bake in oven, uncovered for 1/2 hour @ 350\u00b0.

Gekochtes Sauerkraut(Cooked Sauerkraut, Basic Recipe)

Rinse sauerkraut with warm water in colander, drain well. Place in heavy saucepan or pot with the butter and seasonings (salt, pepper, caraway seed, juniper berries, onion, apple, whatever you like).

In a skillet, melt butter, saute onions and apples until onions are translucent.
Meanwhile rinse and drain sauerkraut; place in a large crock pot.

Sausage, Cheese & Sauerkraut Balls

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix all ingredients together in a very large bowl; making sure sauerkraut is mixed in very well.
Form into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake around 20 minutes or until balls are golden brown. Some ovens take longer. You can freeze uncooked balls if you wish.
One recipe makes a lot.

"Old Austrian Recipe"

In large heavy skillet, saute chopped onion in oil.
Add the mixed, cubed meat; fry 30 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, drained and crumbled bay leaf.
Simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours, until meat and sauerkraut are tender.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Just before serving, stir in the sour cream.

Sauerkraut Salad

Put sauerkraut and pimentos in colander to drain.
Set aside. Chop all ingredients.
Put in bowl sauerkraut, pimentos, carrots, celery, green peppers and onions.
Mix sugar and vegetable oil in separate bowl until well combined.
Pour over other ingredients; mix well with hands until mixed thoroughly.
Refrigerate overnight. Recipe can be doubled or tripled as many times as needed for one or for a large crowd.
