Sauerkraut Hotdish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb ground beef
    1/2 lb bacon, cut-up
    1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut, drained
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    2 cups mashed potatoes
    1/2 cup water
    seasoned salt & pepper, to taste
    2 -3 tablespoons butter
Preparation
    Place Sauerkraut in a collander & rinse well -- set aside to drain.
    Brown the ground beef & bacon together -- drain all but 1 T. fat.
    Season the kraut to taste & add to meat mixture.
    Add water & cover.
    Simmer for 1 hour.
    Place in a lightly buttered cassarole dish.
    Top with mashed potatoes & dot with butter.
    Bake in oven, uncovered for 1/2 hour @ 350\u00b0.
