Place dough in bowl, cover and let rise until double.
Work dough down and place in a greased loaf pan.
Let rise again to double the size.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
While baking, rub bread with butter or margarine to make it nice and brown.

Mix 1/4 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar and dissolve 1 package of yeast in the mixture.
Blend 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup shortening.
