Homemade Bread(This Recipe Is Over 100 Years Old.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pt. sweet milk, scalded
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. oil or shortening
    2 packs yeast
    6 or 7 c. plain flour
Preparation
    Add sugar, salt and oil or shortening to scalded milk.
    Let milk cool to lukewarm.
    Add yeast.
    Stir until dissolved. Gradually stir in flour to milk.
    Flour dough board and knead. Work dough approximately 10 minutes.
    Grease large bowl.
    Place dough in bowl, cover and let rise until double.
    Work dough down and place in a greased loaf pan.
    Let rise again to double the size.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    While baking, rub bread with butter or margarine to make it nice and brown.
