Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Brown onion in butter. Mix soup, cheese whiz and broccoli with onion and butter until broccoli thaws. Add rice and mix well. Pour into a 9 x 11-inch greased casserole dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes covered. Remove foil for last 10 minutes to brown on top, if desired.

Cook broccoli as directed.

Steam broccoli in microwaveable bowl with 1/4 cup water, for about 3-5 minutes. Cool a bit, mash with a fork.
In a small saucepan, melt oil and butter.
Saute onion on low heat, with salt and pepper for 2 minutes, add garlic, stir in flour to make a roux. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly. Add mashed up broccoli.
