In pot, combine apples, water, 1 c. (2 sticks) margarine, and sugar; season with apple pie spice to taste. Cook till hot and flavors are blended.; remove from heat and thicken with a little cornstarch and water.
Preheat oven to 350.
Pour apple pie filling and fried apples in a 13x9 pan evenly.
Sprinkle apples with spices and sugar.
Pour dry cake mix over spices.
Dot with butter.
Sprinkle with nuts.

Prepare pastry and set aside in pie plate.
Mix apples, apple juice, flour and spice.
Stir until all apples are well coated. Add lemon juice and stir.
Taste one piece of apple to check for spice.
Pour into pie plate.

This tastes delicious.

Preheat over 425 degrees.
Mix apple slices and flour together, add Splenda and stir until mixed.
Turn in buttered 9 x 11 glass baking dish.
Dot with butter. Remove pastry from refrigerator and let set at room temperature until you can unfold it and lay it flat for cutting in strips.
After cutting in strips, lay over the top of the apples to cover.
Bake in preheated oven about one hour or until juice begins to bubble through slits in crust and crust is brown.
