Rice takes approximately 25 minutes to cook.

Arroz Con Pollo(Chicken With Rice)

In an 8-quart Dutch oven in hot oil, brown salt pork, cured ham and olive oil.
Lower to medium heat.
Add and saute garlic, salt, onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, olives, Sazon-Goya con pimento and cilantro and chicken bouillon for 2 minutes.
Then add chicken, browning slightly.
Add 3 1/2 cups of water.
Bring to a boil. Continue boiling for 10 minutes.
Add rice (water should cover rice slightly).
Reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir (bottom to top).
Cook for another 10 minutes.
Serves 6.

Grandma'S Rice And Pigeon Peas (Rice Cooker)

Black Beans (Excellent Over White Rice)

Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and chopped pepper.
Saute until golden brown and tender, about 8-10 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning.
Add minced garlic and saute for one minute. Do not burn garlic.
Stir in black beans, water and oregano.
In a cup, mix Sazon Goya with red wine until well-combined.
Add red wine mixture.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
Let stand for 2 minutes. Sauce will thicken.
Pour over white rice.

Start the rice cooking if you want to serve it over rice.
saute onions, garlic and peppers until tender in olive oil in a pan large enough to simmer all ingredients (about 5 minutes).
Add everything else except cilantro and lime wedges and simmer for 8 minutes.

I like to mash a few of the beans with the back of a spoon to flavor the sauce.
Note: if you do not have Sazon Goya an appropriate substitute would be ground cumin, chicken bouillon, and garlic salt to taste.

Easy Spanish Rice

Rinse brown rinse and drain.
In a small sauce pan heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Saute the rice for a few minutes in the oil.
Add the cumin and Sazon Goya and mix well.
Add the chicken stock and tomatoes. Bring to a boil.
Reduce to a slow simmer and cover for about 1 hour. Check after 50 minutes due to stove differences. There should be a small amount of liquid left.
Remove from heat, uncover and let stand for a few minutes to absorb the rest of the liquid.

Goya With Soul

In medium roasting pan, place wings neatly.
Add 2 1/4 cups of water, onion soup mix and olive oil in bowl (stir).
Pour mixture over chicken in roasting pan.
Heat oven to 375\u00b0 to 400\u00b0.
Place covered roasting pan in oven.
Bake chicken 45 minutes or until almost done.
Add Goya rice mix into roasting pan with wings and mixture.
Cook at 350\u00b0 for 1/2 hour; juice will cook rice.
Take out of oven and let stand, uncovered, 20 minutes.
Mix lightly with large fork.
Ready to serve.

You can substitute 1 tsp ground cumin, plus some garlic salt, if needed.
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Saute onion and pepper until onion starts to look translucent.

Shake Adobo on chicken parts and rub in well.
Brown chicken in oil in large heavy skillet.
Add sofrito and alcaparrado.
Simmer 2 minutes.
Add Sazon, water, cube.
Bring to a boil.
Cover.
Simmer 10 minutes.
