It's easy to increase recipe, just boil down to remove excess liquid, if you like them thick.
The longer they simmer the better they taste, but it can be done in 30 minutes and you never turned on the oven.
Combine brown sugar and dry mustard.
In large enamel roaster, put half of the pork and beans.
Sprinkle half of the sugar-mustard mixture and 1 tablespoon of the onion on the beans. Repeat steps.
Place bacon pieces over second layer.
Pour ketchup over all.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Stir gently before serving.

Fry the bacon in the pan in which you will cook the beans.
Do not pour off bacon fat.
Dump one can of green beans including juice into the bacon& grease (first drops will sizzle.) Salt to taste- (the saltiness of the bacon will affect how much is needed.) Boil on a fairly hot temperature with lid off just until juice evaporates.
Serve.
This recipe can be doubled or tripled to serve more people.
Mix all ingredients together and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Use in your tostadas, tacos, or any dish that calls for refried beans.
For extra-special beans, you can add cubes of Monterey Jack or Pepperjack cheese, spread it into a lightly oiled or buttered pan, and heat through in a 350 degree F oven before serving.

Set oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 1-qt baking dish.
In a skillet cook bacon until crisp; drain and reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
In the same skillet saute green pepper in drippings until tender; set aside.
Drain 1 can of beans.
In a bowl combine both cans beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard and sauteed green pepper.
Transfer to baking dish.
Bake, uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until bubbly.
Sprinkle with bacon.
