Add the apple slices and cook until tender.
In a buttered 2 quart casserole, arrange layers of potatoes, sausage, and onion-apple mixture.
Bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
In skillet crumble and brown sausage and onion; drain.
In a mixing bowl blend together milk, mushroom soup and pepper.
In 9 x 9-inch casserole dish layer one half of potatoes, one half of soup mixture, one half of grated cheese and one half of sausage. Repeat; cover with foil.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
Uncover; sprinkle a little more cheese over top.
Return to oven until cheese is melted.
Combine potatoes, mushrooms, celery, condensed soup and 1/2 cup shredded cheese.
Spoon into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole or baking dish.
Arrange Brown 'N Serve sausage atop casserole. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese over top.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Cook the sausage or beef with the celery
Cook and debone chicken.
Saute onions and celery for about 4 minutes in a bit of olive oil; add sausage, crumbling it.
Cook until done, crispy.
Prepare box of long grain rice per directions.
(I use Uncle Ben's) Mix all ingrediants together in a 9x13 casserole dish (easiest to do with your hands); you'll likely have some left over that you can put in a smaller baking dish.
Sprinkle liberally with black pepper Cover with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Remove from refrigerator, and allow to sit at room temperature 30 minutes. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake, uncovered at 325 for 50 minutes or until heated through.
