Season the meat with salt and pepper and rub each side with flour. Place in bottom of slow cooker. Lay onions over top and pour in beef broth and port.

Place first 10 ingredients in the crock pot along with garlic.
Cook on low for approx 6 hours.
Remove beef and shred.
Put back in the crock pot and mix with other ingredients.
Let cook for about a hour.
Serve meat with warm flour tortillas, salsa, and cheese.
You may also want to include sour cream, tomatoes, etc.
Place frozen vegetables on bottom of the crock pot.
Put in meat, add canned soup, onion soup, peppers, onion and spices.
Cook for about 7-8 hours.
My small crock pot has only one setting and that is low.
Whisk together ale, consomme and mustard in a regular crock pot. Add slivered onion and cooked deli pastrami.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 hours.
Drain pastrami and reserve cooking liquid.
Serve pastrami on rolls with swiss cheese, mustard and pickle slices.
Place in toaster oven or moderate oven to crisp up the rolls and get the cheese a little melty if you like.
Serve along with a cup of the cooking liquid as an au jus dip.
Combine the first three ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes, until blended.
Add meatballs and simmer, covered for about 45 minutes.
CROCK POT: For the crock pot, prepare sauce as above. Put meatballs (they can be frozen meatballs) into crock pot, pour sauce over and cook on low for 8 to 12 hours.
