Melt the butter and olive oil together in a frying pan and add the mushrooms and onions; let them cook slowly, over medium heat, until the mushrooms are getting a little brown and the onions are nice and soft, about 20 minutes.
While there's still some moisture left from the mushrooms, add the Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.
The mixture will thicken and it's ready to serve.
Serve with grilled steak and use leftovers for omelets.
Makes 4 servings if served with steak.
Combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, salt & pepper.
Form into 4 patties and set aside.
Heat olive oil in skillet, saute onion & mushrooms.
Return beef to skillet cook for approximately 6 minutes on each side then add 1/4 c merlot and 1/4 c water.

Saute steak, onions, peppers& mushrooms until steak is cooked and veggies are tender.
Stir in pasta, beef broth, oregano& basil; top with cheese.
Cover& continue cooking over low heat until cheese is melted.
Stir gently to completely melt cheese into mixture.
Serve with steak sauce, ketchup or seasoned tomato sauce.

Add the brandy and pepper and simmer over low heat.
Simmer steaks for 5 to 10 minutes.
Serve with mashed potatoes.
You need a Dutch oven or a frying pan with a tight cover for this recipe.
