Pepper Steak Caribou - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak (caribou, moose or beef)
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 or 3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    1 large green pepper, cut in strips
    1 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced or contents of 1 (8 oz.) can
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed in 3/4 cup water
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    You need a Dutch oven or a frying pan with a tight cover for this recipe.
