Ellie is an old high school friend who is now married to my brother.
She thinks she can't cook, but I've never had a bad meal there yet.
The Cherries Jubilee recipe came from the chef at the Officer's Club on Etain Air Force Base in France.
Drain cherries, measuring syrup.
Cut cherries in half.
Add ginger ale and enough water to syrup to make 1 1/2 cups.
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
Add measured liquid and almond extract. Chill until very thick.
Fold in marshmallows and the cherries. Spoon into 6-cup mold.
Chill until firm, at least 4 hours or overnight.
Unmold.
Makes about 5 1/3 cups.

Whip the cream and set aside.
Drain and cut cherries in half.
Combine 2/3 of the cherries, pineapple, sugar and marshmallows.
Mix together, then mix in 2/3 of the whipping cream.
Smooth the top and put on the remaining whipped cream. Then decorate with the remaining cherries.
Can also use chopped pecans in mixture and to decorate the top.
Refrigerate overnight. Rich and delicious!
Dissolve jello in the hot water.
Stir in the juice from the cherries.
Add prepared cherries.
Stir in pineapple and pecans. Pour all into an 8 x 9-inch pan and refrigerate until well set. Then add topping.
Blend or process raspberries with the powdered sugar.
Coarsely chop the Turkish delight bars.
Layer scoops of ice cream with the raspberry puree, Turkish delight and pistachios in serving glasses. Serve immediately.
Prepare jello.
Allow it to partially congeal in refrigerator. Dice cherries except for a few for garnish.
Mix cherries, pecans and pineapple in separate bowl.
Mix cream cheese (room temperature) with water and then with fruit.
Mix in jello and marshmallows.
Mix pineapple and marshmallows and let set 2 hours or until the marshmallows are softened.
Mix together until creamy, cream cheese and mayonnaise.
Whip double cream.
Mix pineapple marshmallows mixture with cheese and mayonnaise mixture.
Fold lightly until blended well, then add cherries and nutmeats. Freeze until set before using.
Freeze on quick freeze.
Don't stir.

Drain maraschino cherries well and lay on paper towel.\tMix sugar, condensed milk, butter and vanilla.\tKnead thoroughly until like soft dough.
Roll fondant around the cherries until a ball (dust palm of hand with powdered sugar).
Lightly freeze balls as they dip better into the chocolate bark.
Melt chocolate bark in microwave and dip cherries.
Lay on buttered plate to cool.
This recipe can be doubled.
We have our own cherries.
I use cherries, water, sugar and red food coloring.
Bring to boil.
Mix with water and 3 heaping tablespoons Clear-Jel and put in boiling cherries.
Stir until thick enough.
Put on low heat and let it slowly boil 5 minutes or so.
Dissolve gelatin in hot water.
Stir in juice from cherries. Add prepared cherries.
Stir in pineapple and pecans.
Pour into an 8 x 8-inch pan.
Refrigerate until set.
Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water.
Add cold water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup; add to Jell-O.
Let thicken slightly.
Drain and chop maraschino cherries.
When Jell-O has started to thicken, add pineapple, cherries and cheese; fold in whipped cream. Refrigerate and congeal.
Put cherries in oblong greased pan.
Pour dry cake mix over cherries; then pour melted butter over that.
Put nuts on top. Bake for 1 hour in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Serve with whipped cream.
nd decorate with nuts and cherries.
Drain cherries; add enough water to cherry juice to make 1 cup.
Bring cherry juice to a boil and remove from heat.
Add jello and dissolve.
Add Coca-Cola.
Place in the refrigerator. When mixture begins to thicken, add cherries and nuts.
Drain fruit from cherries. Heat and add 2 packages jello and 2 Cokes. Add chipped cherries and nuts.
Let set in refrigerator until firm.
Serve on lettuce leaf if used as salad.
Squirt dollop of whipping cream on square if used as dessert.
