Prepare gelatin-free jel dessert according to package directions and pour into a mold. Refrigerate until firm, about 4 hours.

This recipe was in the drawer for some years, but I'm fairly sure it was in one of the \"Three Rivers\" cookbooks.
As I mentioned in some other recipes, if you don't have them, get them.
Anyhow, it's a great dish.
The marinating makes the meat tender and very tasty.
Since the steak varies in thickness, you end up with a choice of well done to medium, or even rare.

Mandarin Orange And Sherbet Ring With Ambrosia Filling

Bring juice to a boil, add jello and stir until disolved.
Add sherbet and stir until melted.
Add oranges, then pour into a 1 1/2 qt lightly oiled ring mold.
Refrigerate until firm, or overnight.
Combine all Ambrosia ingredients and refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.
Unmold jello ring, fill center with Ambrosia, spoon the rest around the mold.

Add pineapple, coconut, marshmallows and salad dressing.
Mix, refrigerate and serve.

Old-Fashioned Egg Salad

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, onion, salt and pepper. Stir in eggs and celery. Cover and chill. Use this recipe for the Potato Salad and/or Macaroni Salad recipes. Yields 4 servings.

Toss bananas with orange juice; drain, reserving juice.
Layer oranges, bananas and strawberries in serving bowl.
Chill.
Combine salad dressing, orange juice and sugar.
Fold in whipped cream. Spoon over fruit.

Texas Pecan Ambrosia Salad With Margarita Dressing

Toss all ingredients, except Margarita Dressing, in a large bowl. Chill, covered, up to 1 hour.
Margarita Dressing.
Stir together all dressing ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and chill.
To serve, drizzle salad with Margarita dressing and garnish with lime slices, if desired.

Cajun Chicken Salad For Two

Whisk together first 5 ingredients; set aside.
Toss together lettuce, tomatoes and onion. Divide between 2 plates.
Liberally coat chicken breast with Cajun seasoning.
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium-high heat; add chicken and fry until cooked through and crusty, about 4 minutes per side.
Transfer cooked chicken to plate and cut into crosswise thin strips.
Arrange chicken atop salad.
Spoon dressing over and serve.

Carrot Ambrosia Salad

Combine all ingredients well.
Chill for several hours.
Good holiday salad.
