Wash the bottles in soapy water

Dissolve the sugar in hot vinegar.
Place berries in jar or bottle and pour warm vinegar over the berries.

As the berries soften and loose their shape, strain and rebottle the vinegar.

Wash the lemons and pare the rind from them with a potato peeler.
Add the peel to the pan with the bay leaves and boil for 5 minutes.
Cover and leave to go cold.

Remove 1x3\" strip peel with vegetable peeler from lemon making sure no pith is attached.

Place 1 tablespoon mixed pickling spices on top of packed cucumbers and put 3 grape leaves either in the bottom or the top of each jar.
Add 1 tablespoon salt.
