Cook string beans.
Saute the onions and the meat in butter for 20 minutes.
Add the string beans to the meat mixture.
Cook slightly.
Add half the spices and sugar to the meat mixture. Beat the eggs slightly and add the rest of the spices and the sugar to the eggs.
Mix well.
Pour the beaten eggs over the meat and string bean mixture.
Add the lemon juice and mix well. Grease the bottom of a 10-inch pie pan.
Pour the mixture in the pan and cook in a 325\u00b0 preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Bring the water to the boil then add the salt, pepper, potatoes, tomatoes and onions.
Simmer for 30 minutes.

In a large stew pot, pour in can of puree and 3/4 can of water.
Season sauce to taste and add sugar.
Add meatballs, string beans and bite size pieces of potatoes.
Simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve with Italian bread.
