In a skillet, melt butter, saute onions and apples until onions are translucent.
Meanwhile rinse and drain sauerkraut; place in a large crock pot.
Stir ketchup, dill and onion-apple mixture into sauerkraut.

Brown sausage meat; drain; spoon over sauerkraut.
Drain potatoes; mash with milk, butter, salt and pepper.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till lightly browned.
This recipe can be doubled, tripled or made for a large gathering.
Just remember to increase the size of the casserole dish as well as the ingredients.

Combine all ingredients; mix well.
Shape to form 1-inch balls.
Bake in ungreased shallow pan in 375\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen.
In large heavy skillet, saute chopped onion in oil.
Add the mixed, cubed meat; fry 30 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, drained and crumbled bay leaf.
Simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours, until meat and sauerkraut are tender.
Season to taste with salt and pepper. Just before serving, stir in the sour cream.
