Ridge sides 8 x 8 x 2-inch. Butter 1-quart saucepan.
Combine sugar, syrup and water.
Bring to boil; stir until sugar is dissolved continuously.
Cook until hard stage.
Remove from heat; add flavor and coloring.
Pour into prepared pan.
When set around edges, take foil out and cut; work fast.
Roll in confectioners sugar.
Cut with scissors.

Remove from heat and add flavoring and coloring.
Pour onto a lightly buttered cookie sheet.

Heat to 310\u00b0, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; add flavoring and coloring immediately.
Pour into buttered cookie sheet; let cool, then crack into small pieces.

Hard Tack Candy

Mix sugar,
water and food coloring in a large saucepan and stir
over
medium
heat
until
dissolved.
Boil
without stirring until temperature reaches 310\u00b0 or drops of syrup form hard brittle
threads in cold water.
Remove from heat.
After boiling has
ceased, stir in flavoring
and coloring.
Pour on to greased cookie
sheet,
or a cookie sheet in which you have pressed powdered sugar.

Mix all ingredients at one time in a large bowl.
Let stand a while, then take small portions and roll out real thin, using graham flour.
Use hard tack rolling pin (after rolling with regular rolling pin) to make marks.
Cut in squares.

Cinnamon Candy(Hard Tack)

Cook sugar, syrup and water to hard crack stage (300\u00b0). Remove from heat.

When cool, crack and sprinkle with more powdered sugar to prevent candy from sticking together.
Stir only until it boils.

Add cinnamon oil or desired flavoring.
Pour into buttered pan.
Crack when mixture becomes hard.

Baked Bacon

Put a layer of brown sugar to cover the bottom of a cookie sheet. Place slices of bacon on the brown sugar.
Spread brown sugar over the bacon, coating as evenly as possible.
Bake at 300\u00b0 until done, about 2 hours.
May take longer.
Bacon will get hard, like hard tack candy.
Cut bacon in 3-inch strips.
Serve cold.

Cook first 3 ingredients to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer; while cooking syrup, grease iron skillet with butter and sprinkle with salt.
Add peanut butter to skillet.
Two people need to work together; one pours syrup mixture into peanut butter slowly, while the other stirs the mixture well.
Mixture will be stiff.
Pour onto greased cookie sheet.
Cut at once into pieces.
Roll into confectioners sugar.

Pour vodka, Schnapps and apple juice into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well and strain into a pitcher or a chilled martini glass.
Drop a sour apple candy in each glass and garnish with a curl of apple peel.
This drink is best served chilled in your freezer for about 15 minutes before you pour into glasses.

Mix in baking soda and flour.

Roll dough into walnut sized balls, flatten slightly and place 2 inches apart on lined cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Watch carefully as melted candy may burn.
Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheets before removing to wire rack.
