Follow recipe on gumbo base container to
Prepare rice according\tto basic rice recipe except for baking.
Stir in
all
ingredients\texcept chicken.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for
10
minutes.
Remove rice from oven and stir in chicken.
Return to oven and bake an additional ten minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
Yields 2 servings.
Core and slice cabbage 1/2\" thick, and add

Cut and shred cabbage.

Saute onion in butter,
Place cabbage in 2-quart casserole (Pam sprayed).
Sprinkle rice over cabbage. Brown and separate hamburger in skillet. Drain. Place hamburger over rice.
Dice onions, and add to 1 TBS minced garlic, salt and pepper and ground sirloin in pan and brown until no pink shows.
Add chopped cabbage, rice and meat mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
In mixing bowl add the rest of the minced garlic, tomato sauce, rustic cut tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and the rest of the spices and mix well then pour over the chopped cabbage and beef mixture.
Mix well then cover with foil and place in over at 350 for 45 minutes - 1 hour or when rice is done and cabbage is no longer crunchy.
Place cabbage leaves in a small amount of boiling water and cook for 8 minutes or until just tender; drain and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, combine the next 4 ingredients.
Spoon 1/2 cup rice mixture onto each cabbage leaf.
Roll up and place roll seam side down in a 12x8 baking dish.
Pour the broth on and around cabbage rolls.
Brush the rolls with the remaining melted butter.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Saute beef, onion, celery and bell pepper.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce.
Add tomatoes, chopped cabbage, rice and water.
Cover; cook slowly until rice is done.
Boil ham bone in water until broth tastes \"hammy\", about 1 1/2 hours.
Add head of cabbage (quartered).
Cook until tender. Remove and keep warm in another pot.
Add rice to broth (about 2 1/2 cups) and cook until done.
Fry bacon and set aside.
In bacon fat, fry rice and chopped onion until light brown.
Set aside.
Boil 3 cups water and add the can of spaghetti sauce.
In a 9 x 13-inch casserole pan, put one layer (4 cups) shredded cabbage, rice and onion mixture, hamburger and 4 more cups of shredded cabbage.
Then pour liquid over top. Lay bacon on top.
Cover and bake at 400\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Boil 2 cups water
Toss shredded cabbage with butter and desired spices.
Place cabbage in vegetable steamer (metal or bamboo)
Steam for 8-10 minutes or to desired texture.
*Tip: Use tongs to sift cabbage and ensure it cooks evenly throughout.
Serve with stir-fry chicken, fish or tofu. Can also be used under a chicken dish as you would rice.

Saute meat and onion in hot oil.
Add cabbage, rice and seasoning.
Stir about 5 minutes.
Add 5 1/2 cups water.
Cover and bring to a boil.
Cook over medium heat 1/2 hour stirring occasionally.
Add tomato sauce and cook over low heat about 20 minutes or until most of liquid has evaporated and porridge looks like cooked rice.
Serves 6 to 8.
Roast peanuts for 5 minutes.
Remove the skin of the roasted peanuts.
Soak rice for an hour.
Drain off excess water and keep aside.
In a heavy bottomed saucepan, fry cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms and onion on high flame with ghee and oil.
Add rice, coconut, cabbage, green peas, garam masala, chilli powder, turmeric powder, the ground paste and 2 cups of water& salt.
Mix well.
Cook on medium flame for 15 minutes.
Stir.
Garnish with roasted peanuts and serve.
