Ham Cabbage Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 good ham bone with leftover ham
    1 head cabbage
    1 c. rice
    black pepper
    6 c. water
Preparation
    Boil ham bone in water until broth tastes \"hammy\", about 1 1/2 hours.
    Add head of cabbage (quartered).
    Cook until tender. Remove and keep warm in another pot.
    Add rice to broth (about 2 1/2 cups) and cook until done.
