Add sugar slowly, folding as for a meringue.
Add a pinch of salt.
Stir or fold in nuts (I use a mixture of pecans, walnuts and almonds) into meringue, being sure they are all well coated.
Melt oleo in large, shallow pan. (Sometimes I use the broiler pan.) Spread meringue coated nuts in melted oleo.
Place in a 325\u00b0 oven; allow nuts to cook slowly. Stir every 15 minutes; keep baking until nuts are brown and all oleo is absorbed.
Cool on waxed paper; store in airtight containers.

Honey Roasted Spiced Nuts Recipe

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl, making sure the nuts are well-coated.
Spread nuts in a single layer onto baking sheet and drizzle any extra coating over the top.
Transfer to oven.
Bake for 5 minutes.
Stir every 5 minutes for a total of 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool completely.
Break up clumps before serving.
Can be stored in an airtight container for 2 to 3 weeks.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease one baking sheet.
In a mixing bowl, whip together the egg white and water until frothy. In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
Add pecans to egg whites, stir to coat the nuts evenly. Remove the nuts, and toss them in the sugar mixture until coated. Spread the nuts out on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake at 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
