Coated Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. or 3 (10 oz.) pkg. walnuts, shelled
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Place nuts on a cookie sheet in oven for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Put nuts in a strainer with large holes, like a French fry basket, and shake off the skins or take nuts outside and blow off the skins. Set aside.
    Grease the 2 cookie sheets with margarine or butter. Cook sugar, water, cinnamon and salt to soft ball stage 236\u00b0 without stirring.
    Remove from heat; add the vanilla, then add nuts.
    Stir quickly until all nuts are coated, then turn out on a greased cookie sheet.
    Cool, then separate.
