Pound the chilis and garlic together in a mortar with a pestle. Add the bean and lightly crush. Add the tomatoes, sugar, roasted peanuts, dried shrimp, lime juice, lime wedges, and fish sauce to the mortar and gently mix together until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the papaya and mix together. Serve.

Bake cake as directed.
Substitute pineapple juice from pineapple in place of water (if not enough juice, add water to make up the difference).
When cake is cool, cover top with 2 cans vanilla pudding, then spread pineapple on top of pudding.

Chill in refrigerator.

This is another really old menu.
My aunt, who later became head chef at the Memorial Union at the University of Wisconsin, gave me the salad and dessert recipes way back in the forties.
In a large casserole dish, make a layer of cookies that have been
dipped in sweet milk (don't leave cookies in milk; dip and take out).\tCover cookies with Cool Whip.
Make 2 more layers of cookies covered with Cool Whip.
Dip with a spoon to serve. Delicious and good when you need something fast.
Place layers of cake, strawberry Jell-O mixture, pudding mixture and Cool Whip in large bowl; repeat layers, topping with Cool Whip.
Make several hours ahead or night before.
Delicious light dessert if made with low-fat milk and light Cool Whip.
Bake cake according to directions as sheet cake.
Make glaze by heating Pet milk and sugar.
When cake has baked, remove from oven and put holes in the cake immediately.
Pour the glaze over the cake.
When cool, top with Cool Whip.
On top of this, put coconut, as much as you like.
Refrigerate.

Core and peel apples down halfway.
Fill apple centers with granulated sugar.
Place in deep baking dish and cover completely with orange juice.
Bake in a 300\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
Cool apples, turn upside-down in juice and refrigerate, covered, overnight or until completely chilled.
When ready to serve, place apple upright in individual serving dish.
Ladle small amount of juice over apple and top with mixture of sour cream and powdered sugar. Delicious for dessert or brunch.
Set oven to 400\u00b0F.
Heat the chili in a small saucepan or microwave until hot.
Spread half of the tortilla chips on the bottom of a 10-inch deep-dish pie plate.
Spoon half of the chili over the chips.
Sprinkle with half of the cheese.
Repeat with remaining chips, chili and cheese.
Bake for about 7-8 minutes until the cheese has melted.
Top with salsa, guacamole and sour cream.
Serve immediately.
