BASIC DONUTS:.

Prepare your Basic Cardamom Bread Dough using the first 7
Prepare Basic Eclair dough.
Put through a pastry tube or spread with a spoon, making strips 4 x 1 1/2-inches on greased baking sheet.
Bake and cool as directed in Basic Eclair recipe.
Roll Basic Dough on lightly floured surface to a 12 x 8-inch rectangle.
Brush with 1/4 cup melted butter; sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Roll lengthwise as for jelly roll; seal edge.
Cut roll in 1-inch slices.
Combine zahtar with sesame seed and sufficient oil to form a thin paste.
Mix well.
Make patties of basic dough and flatten to form circles with a 7-inch diameter.
Spread zahtar mixture on top, pressing it in with fingers.
Place patties on oiled baking sheet.
Bake at 470\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
Cut circles into wedges (like pizza) and serve.
May be eaten warm or cold.
Dissolve the sugar in the 1/4 cup water. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let ferment and bubble.
In a large bowl combine the yeast, flour, salt, olive oil, egg, and warm milk. Knead until a soft dough is formed. Dough will be slightly sticky, so always make sure your hands have a little olive oil on them.
Lightly grease the same bowl with olive oil. Return the dough to the bowl, cover with a clean cloth and leave in a warm dry place for at least 2 hours, until doubled.
Spread dough evenly on a pizza pan.
Coat generously with olive oil.
Sprinkle surface with chopped garlic.
Rinse and cut broccoli rabe into 3-4 inch pieces.
Blanch in boiling water for 2 minutes.
Drain.
Sprinkle cheese on pizza then sausage, sun-dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe.
Sprinkle basil and crushed red pepper.
Bake until crust is brown in a 325\u00b0F oven.
Mix flour and salt.
Make a hole in flour and mix in water, making a dough.
Knead for five minutes, cover with wet cloth and refrigerate for an hour.
Heat a flat pan (non stick pans are not good for this as repeated use at high heats with no liquid tends to crack the Teflon) until smoking hot.
Roll out 1/2 a handful of dough into a flat round shape (3mm thick) and put into pan, cooking for 1 minute either side.
Once turned press gently with a towel, until brown.
Repeat and serve!
Prepare pastry crust according to recipe.
Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt and chocolate in a saucepan.
Stir in milk gradually. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Boil 1 minute.
Blend half the mixture into egg yolks.
Stir into mixture in saucepan; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in butter or margarine and vanilla.
Cool slightly.
Pour into pastry shell and bake as directed in Basic Meringue Recipe.
Soften yeast in warm water (110\u00b0).
Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt; cool to lukewarm.
Add 1 1/2 cups of flour; beat well.
Beat in yeast and egg.
Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well.
Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease surface.
Cover and let rise until double (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
Turn out on lightly floured surface and shape as desired.
Prepare rice according\tto basic rice recipe except for baking.
Stir in
all
ingredients\texcept chicken.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for
10
minutes.
Remove rice from oven and stir in chicken.
Return to oven and bake an additional ten minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.
Yields 2 servings.
Mix up basic dough; it's scrumptious.
Roll out and cut into shapes to make Vanilla Sugar Cookies.
Before baking, decorate with cinnamon hearts, jimmies and gumdrops.
Dough Recipe: The dough must be prepared and refrigerated,
