For the string beans, cook the beans in boiling salted water
Drain beans, reserving liquid.
For each bundle, wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around approximately 10 green beans.
Mix juice from green beans with remaining ingredients and pour over bundles. Cook 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cook string beans; reserve bean water and set aside.
Brown onion and bacon together.
Add approximately 2 tablespoons of Wondra flour to bacon and onion mixture.
Add some reserved string bean water until mixture is a smooth consistency.
Add 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar.
Stir in fresh ground pepper to taste. Add string beans.
Let simmer 15 minutes.
Stir occasionally. Will become thick.
Add a little water if too thick.
Cooking time:
1/2 hour.
Cut string beans into bite-size pieces and boil in salt water until tender.
Fry bacon until crisp, add onions (cut in rings) to bacon dripping and well drained beans, vinegar and sugar; mix well.
Add crumbled crispy bacon and serve hot.
Serves 8.
Mix first 5 ingredients.
Pour over string beans, bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.

Into casserole, add drained string beans.
Add golden mushroom soup, water and bacon bits.
Stir until mixed together. Bake for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Add cheese to top.
Bake until cheese is golden brown.
Drain green beans.
Cut slices of bacon in half.
(You want 2 short pieces instead of 1 long piece.)
Take about 8 green beans and lay on end of short piece of bacon.
Wrap bacon around green beans.
Place on cookie sheet.
Repeat until all green beans have been used.
Place in a 375\u00b0 oven and bake about 40 minutes. Remove when bacon reaches desired crispness.
Makes about 20.
Cook the string beans and drain, saving 1/4 cup of the liquid. Combine the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and add to the cooked beans.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
Drain and rinse string beans (this is important).
Replace liquid with fresh water.
Add rest of ingredients.
Season.
Cook on low heat about 30 to 45 minutes.

BACON WRAPPED APRICOTS:
Partially cook bacon.
Cut strips in half.
Wrap around an apricot and secure with a toothpick.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
DIPPING SAUCE:
Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger.
Put in a small bowl to dip apricots when serving.
VARIATIONS:
Bacon wrapped green olives- Bake as above.
Bacon and peanut butter wraps- spread peanut butter on bacon slices, roll up, spear with a toothpick and broil until crisp.

Dredge tender beef with mixture of soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, salt and sherry.
Heat pan.
Add oil and saute the dredged beef a few seconds.
Pour boiling water over 1/2 pound of string beans; bring to a boil and drain immediately (save 1/4 cup of the water).
