Hawaiian Rice Pilaf

Saute onion, bell pepper, celery and mushroom pieces in stick of butter.
Add oregano leaves and remove from pan.
Brown rice in same pan (may need to add an extra tablespoon of butter) to keep rice from sticking.
Combine sauteed veggies and rice and place into large casserole.
Pour 1 1/2 cans consomme and 1 can of hot water over rice mixture.

Tico Rice Recipe

Add 1 Tablespoon oil to a large pan and saute the dry rice for 2 minutes over medium high flame then add the chopped onion, sweet pepper and cilantro and saute another 2 minutes. Add water or chicken broth, bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer until rice is tender (20-35 minutes). This is also the recipe for Tico rice used in favorites like tamales and Gallo Pinto.

Rice Pudding With Poached Rhubarb

Preheat the oven to 300\u00b0F. For the rice pudding, mix all ingredients in a high-sided baking dish. Bake for 1 1/2 hours, or until rice is cooked and creamy, stirring 3-4 times during the cooking process.
For the poached rhubarb, place all ingredients in a saucepan with 1/3 cup water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer for 5 mins, or until rhubarb is tender but still intact.
Remove the vanilla bean; scrape out seeds and stir into the rice pudding. Serve rice pudding with poached rhubarb.

Grandma'S Pork-Fried Rice

Use recipe for Minute Rice (number of servings you prefer). Dice pork chops and fry in small amount of oil (number of pork chops depend on servings of rice).
Add green onions to pork chops and mushrooms; simmer for a few minutes.
Mix rice with pork chop mixture and simmer on low heat, about 3 to 5 minutes; stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
(This can also be prepared in a wok.)
Serve over chow-mein noodles; sprinkle with soy sauce.

Slow Cooker Tropical Hawaiian Chicken
