Boil tomato paste, BBQ sauce, and sugar in a saucepan. Once it boils remove from heat.
In a large bowl, add the meat, egg and 1/4 cup of the sauce.

Saute onion and green pepper in butter for five minutes.
Add 1/4 cup of the chili sauce and water and cook for another three minutes.

Preheat oven to 350. Chop onion and garlic to desired size and mix with all ingredients except oats and bbq sauce with your hands. It is helpful if you let the meat rest from the refrigerator before you start.
Add 1/2 sauce and oats and continue to mix well.
Form your loaf and put the remaining sauce on top and sides. Bake about 40 minutes.
For different tastes, use different sauces and peppers. Your favorite gravy will also give you a great Meatloaf Hawaiian as leftovers. Mahalo.

My Meatloaf

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine the beef, ketchup, soup mix, bread, Italian-style seasoning and water. Mix well. Shape into a loaf and place into a 9 inch pie pan OR a 9x13 inch baking dish. Baste the top of the meatloaf with ketchup.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for one hour, or until the edges are just crispy and the top has a crust.
Cool for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting.

Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Spread in an un-greased loaf pan.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1& 1/2 hours.
OPTIONAL: Top with BBQ sauce for the last 1/2 hour.
Line bottom of pan with strips of bacon.
Divide meat mixture in 2 halves, place 1st half in pan, make a crater (like a dugout), add cheddar or american cheese, top with 2nd half of meat mixture and seal both halves together.
