Cut a cedar plank to fit your barbeque grill.<
Combine all ingredients except plank in large ziploc bag. Marinate in refrigerator for one hour.

Place plank on grill for 3 minutes and then flip it over.
Remove salmon from bag and place on plank. Discard remaining marinade.

Soak an untreated cedar plank for at least 1 hour.
On a work counter (or a large cookie sheet) spread a layer of soy sauce over the salmon. Sprinkle with lemon pepper. Sprinkle a thin layer of brown sugar.
Cut enough lemon slices to cover the salmon then let the fish marinate for up to 1 hour.
Remove plank from water and dry with paper towel. Transfer salmon to plank.
Prepare barbecue and cook fish until flaky.
Soak plank in water 1 to 2 hours.
Heat grill to medium.
Place salmon on plank and rub top lightly with oil, and sprinkle well with salt and pepper.
Cover salmon with brown sugar.
Place board with salmon on heated grill and close lid.
For a filet about an inch at its thickest and depending on how good your barbeque is, it will grill for about 10 - 15 minutes.
The plank sides may flare up during cooking this is no big deal as long as you keep the salmon about an inch away from the edges.
Remove and serve.
