Best-Ever Fruitcake

Cream margarine and sugar.
Put dry ingredients in sifter. Alternately add an egg at a time, with part of the sifted dry ingredients, till all is combined, then add the wiskey.
Chop the cherries and pineapple (not too small) and rub a little flour on them so they don't float to the top.
Add the fruit and nuts.
Put into a greased tube pan.
Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 hours.
Cool completely before removing from pan.
Wrap well.
Keeps for weeks.

Icebox Fruitcake

Crumble crackers and wafers together.
Drain cherries, reserving juice.
Add coconut, raisins, chopped pecans and cherries.
Mix thoroughly (mixes best by hand).
Add milk and reserved cherry juice.
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Press into lightly oiled tube pan or 3 foil lined loaf pans. Allow to set in refrigerator several hours.
Turn out and wrap well.
Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.

Mix together 2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 2 cups water and 1 lb. sticky raisins. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Add to raisin mixture.
Bake for 1 hour in 325F oven.
You can also add cherries (red and green), mixed peel, nutmeats, and currants as well to this recipe.
