Date Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 oz bran cereal (not flakes)
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 2/3 cups pitted dates, chopped
    1 cup milk
    1/4 cup self-rising flour
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
    2 tsp orange zest
    1/3 cup pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease and line a 7 x 4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Combine bran cereal, sugar, dates and milk. Set aside for 1 hour to soak.
    Add remaining ingredients to mixture. Transfer to prepared pan, smooth surface and bake for 45-50 mins, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 5 mins in pan then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice to serve.
