Savory Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
2 1/2 cups whole wheat self-rising flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, chopped
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp dried chili flakes (optional)
1 tsp sea salt flakes
None None Tomato chutney and cheese, to serve
Preparation

Preheat oven to 415\u00b0F. Lightly grease a baking sheet and dust with flour.
Sift flours, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Mix in butter until crumbly. Make a well at center and pour in buttermilk. Bring mixture together to form a soft ball, then turn dough on to floured surface and knead for 5 mins or until smooth.
Using floured hands, shape dough into 6 loaves, about 3x4 inches each. Place on prepared baking sheet. Score top of each loaf with a knife and sprinkle with chili (if using) and salt flakes.
Bake for 10 mins. Reduce oven temperature to 375\u00b0F. Bake for 10 mins more or until bread sounds hollow when tapped. Serve warm with tomato chutney and cheese.
