Ingredients

2 c. shortening or butter
2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
pinch of salt
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
4 c. quick oats
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins, nuts or chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream shortening
and
sugars thoroughly.
Beat in eggs and flavorings.
Add
oats;
let
stand awhile.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture.
Fold in fruit, nuts or chips.
Drop
by teaspoonful onto ungreased sheet.\tBake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 8 1/2 dozen.
