Homemade Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 pkg. yeast
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Sift flour and sugar together. Cut in shortening.
    Add yeast and water and stir until elastic-like strands form.
    Place dough in greased bowl and cover.
    Let rise until doubled in bulk.
    To shape, place dough on well floured surface, smooth and shape.
    Place in greased pan, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.
    Bake in preheated oven at 300\u00b0 for about 25 to 30 minutes.
