Ingredients

1 c. butter, soft
1/2 c. Crisco
1 lb. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
5 large eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening.
Add sugars gradually until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine dry ingredients.
Blend into creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
Add vanilla and pecans.
Mix well.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Cool and frost with Cream Cheese or Burnt Sugar Icing.
