Ingredients

1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. softened butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Cream together brown sugar and butter; add eggs, orange peel and vanilla.
Beat until fluffy.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to the creamed mixture; beat after each addition.
Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
While cookies are warm, frost with Orange Icing.
