Streamlined Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups warm water
    1 package yeast
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 cups flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    Add sugar and salt.
    Add shortening and half of the flour.
    Beat 2 minutes.
    Add remaining flour. Blend with a wooden spoon.
    Cover.
    Let rise - 30 minutes or until doubled.
    Stir down by beating 25 strokes.
    Spread batter in a greased loaf pan.
    Batter will be sticky.
    Let rise 40 minutes. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
    Bake 45-50 minutes until brown.
    Brush with butter.
