Icebox Spice Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. softened butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg or allspice
    1 large egg
    1 1/2 c. packed dark brown sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Beat butter in a large bowl until it is creamy.
    Add the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg or allspice.
    Gradually stir the sifted dry ingredients into the batter, mixing well after each addition. Divide the dough into thirds.
    Make rolls about 2-inches thick. Wrap the rolls in waxed paper and chill for several hours.
